Reasons to love Guz

Guz is a really bright, cheery guy. He’ll brighten up whichever room he’s given with his beautiful arched foliage and huge flower. Although you might think he might suffer away from his native tropical climes in the Americas, Guz actually enjoys the warm temperatures of a home environment, and especially warm, humid rooms like a bathroom or kitchen.  If you can’t place them in a steamy space, give them a mist spray. The only thing you need to remember about Guz, is that unlike other plants he doesn’t like his soil to get wet, so remember to water his central tube where the flower emerges instead. Guz is also the perfect plant for a pet -friendly home, as he is totally non-toxic.

#6. A note on pots. We recommend buying pot covers (decorative pots) for your plants for two reasons. Firstly, they look cute and they stop water from going all over your windowsill/ desk/ table etc. Secondly, it makes it easier for the roots of your plant to take up the water they need and gives you a visible indicator of how thirsty they are! If you already own pots or have an old saucer you would prefer to use, choose the pot free option (shown with plants in their nursery pots). Otherwise, we would recommend buying a pot cover for Guz. The grey eco-pot is made from 100% recycled materials.

 Plants are naturally good for the environment, but we don’t want our business to offset the good that plants do by smothering them in throwaway, plastic packaging. When you order from us you will receive your plants in a recyclable cardboard box (which contains a high grade of recycled materials within it). Even our notecards are made from 100% recycled paper.
